ALAURA MCGUIRE

Alaura is from Eugene, Oregon, and currently lives in San Francisco, California. She obtained her B.A. in English with a minor in French from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and her JD from UC Law San Francisco with a concentration in Environmental Law. 

Originally, Alaura went to law school to work in juvenile dependency because she wanted to ensure that children’s voices were heard in the court system. However, after taking her first environmental law course at the end of her second year of law school, Alaura was inspired by the work of environmental advocates. Once she discovered OCT, which she feels is at the perfect intersection of youth rights and environmental law, she knew she wanted to join the team. 

Every day, Alaura is motivated and inspired by the innovative cases OCT is filing and the youth who are brave enough to share their stories. In her free time, Alaura enjoys reading fantasy novels, cooking new recipes with her partner, and hiking.
