CLIMATE TRIAL AMPLIFICATION TOOLKIT 〰️
Fifteen young Canadians are making history. On October 26, they will walk into a federal courtroom in Vancouver for the first federal youth climate trial in Canadian history.
In La Rose v. His Majesty the King, these youth plaintiffs are asking the court to hold the federal government accountable for violating their constitutional rights and to order a Climate Recovery Plan in line with what the leading science says is necessary to achieve a safe climate.
They showed up for seven years to get here. Now it’s their turn to share their stories and confront their government in court. Use this toolkit to spread the word online, attend trial in person in Vancouver, and make sure these youth don’t stand alone.
ATTEND TRIAL IN VANCOUVER
For eight weeks, fifteen young Canadians will walk into a federal courtroom in Vancouver and do something no Canadian youth has ever done before. They will take the stand and tell their stories directly to a federal judge, supported by expert witnesses in climate science, renewable energy, children’s health, and economics. After seven years of legal battles to get here, this is the moment that matters most.
Join Our Children’s Trust and West Coast Environmental Law outside the courthouse to cheer on the youth as they arrive. Then, help pack the courtroom! An overflow room livestreaming court proceedings will be available if courtroom capacity is reached. Let's show the world that Canada stands with its youth!

Mark your calendars! On October 26, history is being made in Vancouver.
Fifteen young Canadians are taking their government to court in La Rose v. His Majesty the King — the first federal youth-led climate trial in Canadian history.
These youth are already living with the harmful impacts of the climate crisis, like wildfires, floods, extreme heat, and threats to their health and safety.
They're arguing that the government is worsening the climate crisis and violating their Charter Rights to life, liberty, and security of the person. They’re asking the court to order a science-based Climate Recovery Plan to reduce emissions and protect their future.
This isn't about political compromise. It's about accountability.

Subject: October 26 in Vancouver: Stand with Youth Suing Canada Over Climate Change!
Body:
Hi [Name],
I wanted to share an important opportunity to support young people standing up for their constitutional rights in the face of the climate crisis.
On October 26, 2026, youth plaintiffs in La Rose v. His Majesty the King will appear in court in Vancouver for the first federal youth-led climate trial in Canadian history.
The fifteen young Canadians argue that the federal government's actions are worsening the climate crisis and violating their Charter Rights to life, liberty, and security of the person. Wildfires, floods, extreme heat, disrupted and displaced communities — these youth are living it now and they're asking the court to order a science-based Climate Recovery Plan and protect their rights.
Be part of history:
This is a once-in-a-generation moment. No Canadian court has ever had a youth climate case go this far, and being in the courtroom means witnessing history unfold in real time. Over the course of the trial, you'll see the youth plaintiffs share their climate stories directly with the court, and hear testimony from expert witnesses in climate science, Indigenous knowledge, renewable energy, children's health, and economics as they build the factual record supporting the youth's claims.
Your presence in the courtroom, and at rallies, lets these young people know they are not alone and sends a clear message to the judge and the government that the world is watching.
If you're in the Vancouver area, please join Our Children's Trust and West Coast Environmental Law at the courthouse to support the youth plaintiffs.

Best,
