PHIL GREGORY (HE/HIM)

Of Counsel

Since our founding in 2010, Phil Gregory has served as Of Counsel with Our Children’s Trust on a pro bono basis, all while maintaining his litigation practice with the Gregory Law Group based in Woodside, California. Among his work for Our Children’s Trust, Phil is counsel in Lighthiser v. Trump and served as co-lead counsel in our federal cases, Juliana v. United States and Genesis v. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Phil was co-lead trial counsel in Held v. State of Montana and in Navahine v. Hawaiʻi Dept. of Transportation.

Phil’s representative cases involved issues including title to real property on the California coast and decades-long groundwater contamination, while his other pro bono trial work addressed flooding during Hurricane Katrina, preserving old-growth redwoods in Richardson Grove, and saving Coho salmon in the Smith River. 

For his work with OCT, Phil has received many awards, including the Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year award (2025), the Montana Trial Lawyers Association Public Service Award (2024), and the Edwin J. Owens Lawyer of the Year award by Santa Clara University School of Law (2018).

Phil is a MARTINDALE-HUBBELL® 2026 AV Preeminent Attorney - Judicial Edition, a Master of the Bench and former past President with the Hon. William Ingram American Inn of Court, a Fellow with the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and a member with the American Board of Trial Advocates.
