SIERRA RAINE R. (They/Them)

Age AT FILING: 17 | Hometown: Cowichan Valley, British Columbia

Sierra Raine is a 24-year-old artist, farmer, permaculture designer, and educator from the Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada. A climate plaintiff since the age of 17, Sierra is passionate about environmental and social justice, regenerative practices, and building a more accessible and equitable future for all.

Living with chronic health conditions, including myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), fibromyalgia, Lyme disease, and psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES), Sierra is deeply committed to disability justice, inclusion, and accessibility.

Sierra is the founder of RainDrop Designs, a small permaculture design company that helps clients transform their land and urban spaces into thriving, regenerative environments. Through their work, they empower individuals and communities to build food and water security in their own backyards while creating spaces that support people and the planet.

When they’re not working, Sierra loves spending time outdoors, reading, and playing in the backyard with their chickens. With a deep love for plants and animals, they bring their passion for the natural world into everything they do. At just 17, Sierra delivered a TEDx Talk titled “Beyond Sustainability: A Call for Regeneration,” sharing their vision for moving beyond sustainability toward a more regenerative relationship with the planet.
