August 18, 2025: Plaintiffs file opposition to the federal defendants' motion to dismiss
The youth plaintiffs filed their opposition to the federal defendants' motion to dismiss the case, claiming that they have standing based on the serious harms they are already experiencing and will continue to suffer because of the defendants’ executive orders. They also argue that their claims to protect their constitutional rights to life and liberty and challenge Trump’s executive orders that unlawfully exceed presidential authority are valid, and that the court has a duty to hear their case.
