February 11, 2025: Oral Arguments at Virginia Supreme Court   

Attorneys for the youth plaintiffs presented their case before the Virginia Supreme Court, urging the Court to grant their Petition for Appeal and overturn a lower court ruling that dismissed their constitutional and jus publicum (public trust) claims against the Commonwealth.  

During the proceedings, plaintiffs’ attorney Nate Bellinger presented arguments on several key legal issues, all of which have wide-ranging implications for Virginians, including sovereign immunity and public trust claims, plaintiffs’ standing, and federal standing test and Virginia constitutional claims.
