December 10, 2025: Case Filed!

Thirteen youth from across the state of Montana, all previous plaintiffs of the groundbreaking case Held v. Montana, filed Held v. Montana II, a constitutional climate petition against the State of Montana, Governor, and Department of Environmental Quality. The youth are challenging the constitutionality of laws passed in 2025 by the Montana Legislature that intentionally disregard the Held ruling, which affirmed young Montanan’s constitutional rights to a clean and healthful environment.
